Ben Folds brought 2010 to a close on a high note, with his Nick Hornby collaboration, Lonely Avenue, having made a number of year-end best lists and The Sing-Off, the NBC singing competition of which he was a judge, a smash hit. Folds is now set to bring music from both to venues across the US as he launches his 2011 tour with support from Sing-Off finalists Street Corner Symphony. Ben Folds brought 2010 to a close on a high note, with his debut Nonesuch release, Lonely Avenue, a collaboration with novelist Nick Hornby, having made a number of year-end best lists and The Sing-Off, the televised singing competition of which he was a judge, having completed its second season a smash hit for NBC. Folds is now set to bring music from both avenues to venues across the US as he launches his 2011 tour schedule with several concerts in the Midwest with support from Street Corner Symphony, finalists in The Sing-Off from Folds's hometown of Nashville.

The US tour begins with a performance at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this Sunday, followed by stops in Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Missouri, including several college dates, and closing out with a set at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 1.

Later that month, Folds and his band head across the Atlantic to begin a weeks-long tour of Europe at Vicar Street in Dublin on February 18 that includes shows in England, Germany, Denmark, Austria, and the Netherlands.

In May, the tour makes its way to the Southern Hemisphere for shows in Folds's once-adopted home country of Australia with shows in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. At the end of the month, it's up to Japan for shows in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya; tickets for the Japan shows go on sale February 5.

American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
