On September 29, the band also joined fellow headliners Neil Young with Crazy Horse and Foo Fighters in New York’s Central Park for a free concert in front of nearly 60,000 fans as part of Global Festival 2012. The Black Keys have been touring the West Coast this month, including two nights at L.A.’s Staples Center this past weekend, and will close out the first night of the Austin City Limits Music Festival this Friday. Released December 6, 2011, on Nonesuch Records, El Camino was produced by Danger Mouse and The Black Keys and was recorded in the band’s new hometown of Nashville during the spring of 2011. The record debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200; its first single, “Lonely Boy,” reached #1 on the Alternative and AAA radio charts and is certified RIAA Gold. The second single, “Gold on the Ceiling,” also reached #1 at Alternative and #3 at AAA; both songs entered the top 10 at Rock radio. The third single, “Little Black Submarines,” is currently in the top 5 at Alternative radio. Other highlights from the past year include appearances on Saturday Night Live, The Colbert Report, and the Late Show with David Letterman. The band also recently was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone.

The Black Keys—Akron, OH, natives Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney—released their debut album, The Big Come Up, in 2002, followed by Thickfreakness (2003) and Rubber Factory (2004). In 2006 they signed to Nonesuch Records in the US and released their fourth album, Magic Potion, which was followed by the Danger Mouse-produced Attack & Release in 2008 and the Grammy Award-winning Brothers in 2010. The twenty-seven disc box set Steve Reich Collected Works is due March 14, 2025, on Nonesuch. It features music recorded during the composer's forty years on the label—six decades of his compositions, including first recordings of his two latest works, Jacob’s Ladder and Traveler’s Prayer—plus two extensive booklets with new essays by Robert Hurwitz, Michael Tilson Thomas, Russell Hartenberger, Judith Sherman, and Nico Muhly, and a comprehensive listener’s guide by Timo Andres. Nonesuch made its first record with Steve Reich in 1985; he was signed exclusively to the label that year. Collected Works includes twenty-four discs of Nonesuch recordings and three from other labels.
