The Low Anthem closes out its European tour with a bang tonight, playing its biggest headline show ever at 02 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. The quartet comes to the famed century-old venue, with its 2,000-person capacity, after a two-week tour of the Northern Europe, Ireland, and the UK with fellow Rhode Island band Brown Bird opening. Tonight, the bands will be supported by British singer-songwriter David Ford as well.

While in London, the stopped by the BBC 6 Music studios for an interview and live performance on this morning's show with host Lauren Laverne. You can listen in online at bbc.co.uk. The interview with band members Ben Knox Miller and Jeff Prystowsky begins at about an hour and 25 minutes in, and the full-band performance is on at an hour and 42 minutes, featuring "To the Ghosts Who Write History Books," off the band's Nonesuch debut, Oh My God Charlie Darwin (out on Bella Union in Europe), and the new song "Apothecary."

There's much more touring to come, as The Low Anthem returns to the States and prepares to head out again, including a ten-gig run through the Midwest with The Avett Brothers beginning in two weeks; several sets with Lissie and Annie and the Beekeepers in March; dates at the South by Southwest festival in Austin; and spring tours with Timber Timbre and with The Wheel.

And, lest the band wander too far from home with all of that touring, The Low Anthem has just added a new performance date, this one in the band's hometown of Providence, Rhode Island, at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, April 21. For all the upcoming tour dates, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

As if all that weren't enough, just before the start of the European tour, the band was hard at work on the follow-up to Oh My God, Charlie Darwin in a spaghetti sauce factory not too far from Lupo's. And its latest endeavor, The Trala-lala Radio Hour on WOXY, is in full swing, with two episodes already in the can, featuring music by the likes of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Woody Guthrie, Tom Waits, and label mates Randy Newman and Wilco. The show first airs Sundays at 10 AM ET with an encore presentation Monday night at 8 PM ET. You can listen online and hear the earlier episodes archived at woxy.com.

American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
