The 2013 Americana Music Honors & Awards ceremony, at which Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell took home the Duo of the Year and Album of the Year awards for their album Old Yellow Moon last September, will be broadcast in full on AXS TV this Sunday, March 9, at 8 PM ET. Congratulations to Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, winners of the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album of the Year for their duets album Old Yellow Moon. Congratulations to Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell on their nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album of the Year for Old Yellow Moon. The album, released to critical acclaim earlier this year, is the first official collaboration from the duo since Crowell joined Harris’ Hot Band as guitarist and harmony singer in 1975. Old Yellow Moon has already been named one of the Best Albums of the Year by American Songwriter and Uncut and has landed in the Top Ten of Amazon Customer Favorite Albums of 2013.

With less than a month to go before 2013 comes to a close, music magazines have begun to weigh in on the best in music this year. Rolling Stone, Mojo, Q, and Uncut have all published their lists of the Best Albums of the Year, and included among them are a number of Nonesuch releases: the latest from Emmylou Harris and Rokia Traoré and the label debut albums from Sam Amidon, Devendra Banhart, Bombino, and Iron & Wine.

Emmylou Harris will be a familiar face and voice on PBS in the coming days, as she is among the artists featured on two programs showcasing Americana music airing this weekend: Nashville 2.0, exploring the vibrant Americana music scene, with interviews and performances from Harris, Carolina Chocolate Drops, and more; and Austin City Limits' special with highlights from the Americana Music Festival 2013, including performances from Harris with Rodney Crowell and Dr. John with Dan Auerbach.

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell make their Austin City Limits duo debut, performing together for the first time on the ACL stage, this Saturday, November 2, on PBS stations across the US. The performance was recorded at The Moody Theater in Austin this past June as part of a world tour supporting their album Old Yellow Moon. Harris and Crowell tour California, the Pacific Northwest, and Western Canada with Richard Thompson starting this weekend.

The Americana Music Association Honors & Awards show takes place at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville tonight and will include performances from 2013 multiple nominees Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, as well as Dr. John and others. Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, who released their collaborative album, Old Yellow Moon, on Nonesuch Records earlier this year, kick off the next leg of their North American tour with a headlining set at the Ottawa Folk Festival this evening. The tour makes stops throughout Canada and the US, including several shows in Texas and along the West Coast. Starting in November, Harris and Crowell welcome Richard Thompson to the bill, as they did for an earlier leg of the tour. 

Emmylou Harris has been nominated for three awards at the 2013 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards show including Artist of the Year. She is also nominated with Rodney Crowell for Album of the Year and Duo/Group of the Year for their acclaimed 2013 collaboration, Old Yellow Moon. The duo, currently touring Europe in support of the album, will resume its US tour in June including two shows with special guest She & Him. The Americana Honors & Awards returns to the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on September 18, 2013, as part of the Americana Music Festival.
