Joachim Cooder, whose Nonesuch debut album, Over That Road I'm Bound, is out this Friday, will perform a series of virtual in-store performances via Instagram Live of several US independent record stores this week. The sets begin on the Instagram of Music Millennium Records in Portland, OR, tonight, followed by Salzer's Records in Ventura, Grimey's in Nashville, Boo Boo Records in San Luis Obispo, and Electric Fetus in Minneapolis on release day. Banhart hand-picked the locations for their cultural, historical, and emotional significance: the Mountain, Bob Baker Marionette Theater, The Broad, and the Underground Museum. The concerts explore—in chronological order—songs from his catalog of ten albums. Moses Berkson directs the series; each show will feature one of Banhart’s frequent musical collaborators—including Noah Georgeson, Josiah Steinbrick, Gregory Rogove and Todd Dahlhoff—on a selection of songs.

La Havas will donate her proceeds to Black Lives Matter–related organizations. She has just released a cover of Radiohead's "Weird Fishes," the latest single from the new album, due July 17. They will perform the season's first public, open-air concerts on Caramoor's Friends Fields, set up for small, well-spaced audiences, on Saturdays July 18 and July 25, respectively. Tickets will go on sale five days before each performance.

Metheny begins a month-long tour of Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America tonight with the band featured on From This Place: drummer Antonio Sanchez, bassist Linda May Han Oh, and pianist Gwilym Simcock. He tours Europe in May and June with his Side Eye project with keyboardist James Francies and drummer Marcus Gilmore, and has a run of trio shows in Norway in August.

Jessy Wilson and The Marcus King Band will each open select dates on the first half of the tour, and Yola will open for the twenty-concert second leg, starting in Cleveland on August 11.
