Sara Watkins performed "When It Pleases You," off her new album, Sun Midnight Sun, on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS last Thursday. Watkins and fellow Nonesuch artist Shawn Colvin joined Garrison Keillor and the cast of A Prairie Home Companion for the show this weekend, now available online. Watkins performs "You and Me" and "Take Up Your Spade" off the new album; Colvin plays "Change Is on the Way," off her new album, All Fall Down.

MTV today announced that The Black Keys will perform their hit single “Gold on the Ceiling,” off their album El Camino, at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Hosted by comedian/actor Russell Brand, the awards will air live this Sunday, June 3, at 9 PM ET/PT. The Black Keys head back on the road in July for more North American arena shows and to headline a number of summer festivals in North America and Europe.

Shawn Colvin—whose new album, All Fall Down, and memoir, Diamond in the Rough, are both due out June 5—will be featured on HGTV's Celebrities at Home tonight at 8 PM ET. Colvin will take host Nancy O'Dell on a tour of her colorful Austin home designed with eclectic flea market finds. Punch Brothers performed "Movement and Location," the opening track off their new album, Who's Feeling Young Now?, on Later ... with Jools Holland, which aired Friday night on BBC Two. They also helped inaugurate Garden & Gun's new web series, The Back Porch Sessions, performing The Band's "The Weight" at the magazine's office. Watch both performances here. Carolina Chocolate Drops’ video for the track “Country Girl,” after rating as one of the most-watched music videos on CMT.com following its premiere last week, will air throughout this week on CMT’s High 5 Countdown. The show airs on CMT at 11 AM ET/PT Monday through Friday, and the video can still be viewed online. “Country Girl” appears on the Grammy-winning band’s new album, Leaving Eden.

Tune in to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight to see Sara Watkins perform "You and Me," off her just-released album, Sun Midnight Sun. The Wrap gives the album glowing marks. "If Levon Helm's passing put you in an Americana mood, but you're not sure younger generations have as much to bring to roots-based music as their elders," writes the Reuters-syndicated site, "proceed directly to the superb sophomore effort by Sara Watkins. Not that Sun Midnight Sun will only be a balm to suffering Band fans; it might be the finest album of the year so far in any genre."

The Jerusalem Post, previewing the band's sets at the White City Music Festival in Tel Aviv this week, describes Punch Brothers as "one of the most acclaimed and upcoming young American bands."

Carolina Chocolate Drops, who joined The Chieftains for a performance on Later ... with Jools Holland on BBC Two last Tuesday, were also featured on  Friday's full episode of Later. That show included an encore broadcast of The Chieftains performance as well as a solo performance from the Chocolate Drops of the song "No Man's Mama," off of their new album, Leaving Eden.
