    Björk, whose ten-night Biophilia residency in New York City begins this Friday, will be the guest on tonight's episode of The Colbert Report. Tune in to Comedy Central starting at 11:30 PM ET tonight to see Björk perform "Cosmogony" from Biophilia and talk with host Stephen Colbert about the multimedia project: the album, the Apps, the educational series, and the residency, which includes six shows at the New York Hall of Science in Queens and four at Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan.

    Carolina Chocolate Drops were featured on CNN Newsroom, discussing their music and its roots with anchor Brooke Baldwin. Watch it here. The band performed at Celtic Connections in Glasgow with support from Punch Brothers. The bands "played with the kind of hard-won technique that leaves you high on life," raves The Scotsman in a five-star review. The Herald Scotland calls the Chocolate Drops "riotously good fun" and "a real treat"; they "set the house alight." The band launches its US tour on Thursday. Chocolate Drops and Kronos Quartet can be heard on Chimes of Freedom, a new album of songs of Bob Dylan benefiting Amnesty International.

    Wanda Jackson will join Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings to pay tribute to the late Amy Winehouse on VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul, premiering tonight at 9 PM ET on VH1. Jackson famously performs Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good" on her latest album, The Party Ain't Over. The VH1 Divas show, a tribute to the heritage of soul music and the cities in which it flourished, also includes performances from Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Chaka Khan, Mavis Staples, and more, all backed by the show’s house band, The Roots.

    The Black Keys followed a week of performances in NYC celebrating the release of their new album, El Camino, with a weekend on the West Coast. They performed at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas, at which "the guys could have converted almost anyone in attendance to the Church of Keys with the way the audience hung on to every word and guitar stroke," reports MTV, and at the Video Game Awards (VGA). You can watch their VGA performance of the El Camino tune "Lonely Boy" here.

    The Black Keys continued the celebration of the release of their new album, El Camino, with a performance of "Gold on the Ceiling" on the Late Show with David Letterman on CBS last night. Watch it here. NPR's Fresh Air calls the new album a "reinvention" for the band, with their having "achieved a sound that's frequently brighter, more open and eager." Tickets for the March 2012 leg of the band's North American tour go on sale to the general public tomorrow.

    The Black Keys' new album, El Camino, was released yesterday to great critical acclaim and plenty of celebrating all around. The band was on The Colbert Report last night, performed "Lonely Boy" and a web-exclusive of "Gold on the Ceiling"—all of which you can watch here—and performs on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight. Reuters calls El Camino "stunning." The Washington Post calls the band "exhilarating." MTV includes El Camino on its list of the 20 Best Albums of 2011, calling it "positively brilliant." Stereogum says, "There isn’t a single weak track." Consequence of Sound gives the album four stars and finds it "very nearly the Platonic ideal of rock and roll."

    The Black Keys, whose new album, El Camino, is just one day away, were featured on NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday, talking with host Audie Cornish about the new album. The Black Keys were musical guests on Saturday Night Live this weekend, performing two songs off of El Camino: "Lonely Boy" and "Gold on the Ceiling." Watch the performances here. The Evening Standard gives the album four stars, calling it “fiery, raucous and ferocious fun.” "The Black Keys have grown into one of the most exciting rock bands of our time," exclaims the Independent on Sunday. "Too late for those album of the year polls?"

    Björk performs songs from her new album, Biophilia, on Later ... with Jools Holland, airing Friday night on BBC Two in the UK. She performed the song "Crystalline" on Tuesday night's half-hour preview show; watch the performance here. Among the other guests on this week's shows are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, and Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings. Björk will perform at the Lollapalooza festival in Chile next year.

    k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang close out their three-week tour of Australia—and months-long world tour—at the Brisbane Riverstage tomorrow night. The Age, reviewing one tour stop, says: "lang's voice remains a marvel." While in Sydney for a sold-out, six-night residency, lang and the band took time out for a special invitation-only live performance and audience Q&A that aired on Channel 7's Sunday Night. Fans around the world can now watch online via the show's site.

    Following yesterday's news that The Black Keys will join Steve Buscemi on Saturday Night Live on December 3 comes word that the band will perform on The Colbert Report on Comedy Central on December 6, the release day for their new record, El Camino, followed by the Late Show with David Letterman on CBS December 7.

    Emmylou Harris and Jessica Lea Mayfield are among the artists who will be showcased on the PBS special ACL Presents: Americana Music Festival, along with Robert Plant, Gregg Allman, Alison Krauss, The Avett Brothers, and others, airing on Austin City Limits this Saturday. The hour-long special was filmed live at the Ryman Auditorium on October 13, during the sold-out Americana Music Association's Honors and Award Show.     The Black Keys will perform on NBC's Saturday Night Live on December 3, just days before the release of their latest album, El Camino, due out December 6. This is the band's second time this year as musical guests on the show, a "rare distinction," says Rolling Stone, which broke the news in an exclusive this morning. Steve Buscemi will host. The Black Keys will perform at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas extravaganza in LA on December 11; tickets go on sale tomorrow morning.
