"Centered around joy, her new album, Sorry I Haven't Called, is a celebration," NPR's World Cafe host Kallao says of his guest Vagabon's new record. The episode is a mini-concert of four songs from Vagabon's tour, which concludes at the Lodge Room in LA on Wednesday. Thomas Adès's Dante and Cécile McLorin Salvant's Mélusine have received Presto Music Awards. Dante was named one of the Albums of the Year in the Classical field (“Teeming with a vivid array of colourful textures ... full of morbid, macabre delights. Dudamel and his orchestra dash off the incredible demands placed upon them with seeming ease and exuberant abandon.”), and Mélusine in Jazz ("Featuring a tantalising mixture of originals and interpretations ... this record is a sumptuous cultural amalgamation of the stellar vocalist's wide-ranging interests.”).

The Magnetic Fields’ Stephin Merritt is on BBC World Service’s Music Life with Beirut's Zach Condon and Blondie's Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. They discuss artistic self-expression, the influence of location on songwriting, and what unexpected musical genres have inspired them. You can hear it here. The Magnetic Fields, who just completed a European tour, will tour the US with songs from 69 Love Songs next year for the album's 25th anniversary. Their 2004 Nonesuch debut album, i, was released on vinyl for the first time this past spring.

Brad Mehldau concludes his four-night residency at Smoke Jazz Club in NYC, where Punch Brothers continue their acoustic variety show at Minetta Lane Theater with guests James Taylor and Gaby Moreno, and Makaya McCraven plays Pioneer Works in Brooklyn. In Florida, The Black Keys headline Riptide Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale and Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway are at Orange Blossom Revue in Lake Wales. Shara Nova performs The Blue Hour in Ann Arbor. In California, Yussef Dayes is at The UC Theatre in Berkeley and Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, where Alarm Will Sound is joined by Nathalie Joachim and Alyssa Pyper at The Nimoy.

The Staves have announced their first North American tour since 2017, in celebration of their new album, All Now, due March 22. The tour begins April 7 in Washington, DC, with shows in New York City, Cambridge, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
