The "Lonely Interviews"—a series of live online video interviews featuring Ben Folds chatting with fans and fellow artists about anything and everything—kicked off last week with two fan-hosted talks and one with Bob Saget. The series, titled after Folds's forthcoming album collaboration with Nick Hornby, Lonely Avenue, continues this week with three consecutive days of interviews, all taking place at benfolds.com/chat.

This week's "Lonely Interviews" begin today at 6 PM ET, with author Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer, whose 2008 solo debut album, Who Killed Amanda Palmer, was produced by Folds. Up next, today at 7 PM ET, is singer/songwriter Michelle Branch. After soliciting questions from her Twitter followers, Branch promises to get an update on the stolen black t-shirt at the heart of Ben Folds Five's classic "Song for the Dumped."

The fans take over for the next set of interviews, tomorrow, August 26, at 6:30 PM ET and 7 PM ET, with Corey Young and Nina Jankowicz, respectively.

On Friday, young UK video blogger extraordinaire Charlie McDonnell will be leading the chat from London, starting at 4 PM ET / 9 PM GMT.

And that's all taking place at benfolds.com/chat.

Check back for news on more "Lonely Interviews" to come in the weeks leading up to the September 28 release of Lonely Avenue. The album is available for pre-order now on vinyl, CD, and in the deluxe edition in the Nonesuch Store. Pre-orders include a limited-edition Folds/Hornby-penned manuscript score from the album track "Picture Window," a number of which will be signed by Ben and Nick.

"Here you have the guy who is speaking to the universality of the human experience in every molecule," Ken Burns tells Walter Isaacson on PBS's Amanpour & Co. about the subject of his latest film, Leonardo da Vinci. Sarah Burns, his co-director on the film with David McMahon, adds: "I think it's entirely central to who Leonardo was, that he had these interests across such a wide spectrum, and he didn't see those things as being separate. To him, all of these things were related and part of his larger effort to just understand the universe and everything he could about the human experience, the human body, and how all of these things are connected." You can watch their conversation here. You can watch LEONARDO da VINCI on PBS and hear Caroline Shaw's original score now.
