Ben Folds and Nick Hornby follow last week's New York City appearances with a PEN/Faulkner event at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, DC. Hornby will read from his latest novel, Juliet, Naked; Folds will perform songs from their album, Lonely Avenue. The Washington Post Express calls them "a match made in heaven." Folds has just added a New York City date to his fall tour, with tickets now available to fans, and will return to DC in December to present his photography at National Geographic.

Ben Folds and Nick Hornby follow up on last week's multi-event trip through New York City with an appearance in Washington, DC, tonight. The collaborative team behind the new Nonesuch album Lonely Avenue, featuring words by Hornby and music by Folds, will come together again for a PEN/Faulkner event at DC's Sixth & I Historic Synagogue. Hornby will read from his latest novel, Juliet, Naked, just out in paperback, and Folds will perform songs from Lonely Avenue. The Washington Post Express, previewing tonight's event, calls them "a match made in heaven."

Folds will return to New York with band in tow later this fall, as a new date has just been added to his upcoming tour: December 14 at the Beacon Theatre. Presale tickets and special VIP packages will be available to the Ben Folds Fan Club today, October 19, and tickets go on sale to the general public this Saturday, October 23, via Ticketmaster. Shortly before the New York date, on December 3, Folds heads back to Washington, DC, to participate in a special presentation at National Geographic headquarters. As part of the National Geographic Live! series Music on ... Photography, he'll present and discuss his photography with photographer Mark Seliger. Tickets are available at nationalgeographic.com.     Hurray for the Riff Raff, just before the one-year anniversary of their acclaimed album The Past Is Still Alive, has shared their first new single and music video of 2025, “Pyramid Scheme.” The song embodies that record’s spirit of resilience and rebellion, with lyrical nods to Billy the Kid, Calamity Jane, Darby Crash, and Frida Kahlo.
