Congratulations to Justin Allan from Seattle! The Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy blog, reviewing the show, says Björk "gave a commanding performance ... sharing the joy of a magical evening." The Onion's A.V. Club says that "the mix of concert and performance art was easily summarized: stunning." As Björk's fully sold-out residency at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, featuring music from her recently release album, Biophilia, continues this weekend and into November, we are happy to announce that one lucky fan has won a trip for two to the closing-night performance on November 7. Congratulations to Justin Allan from Seattle, Washington! He and a friend will be making their way to Reykjavik courtesy of Iceland Air. Thanks to all who entered.
From all reports, it's sure to be a show not to be soon forgotten. "Björk Commands Reykjavik Stage," exclaims the Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy blog. "For her album Biophilia, Björk and her team invented new instruments to challenge and stimulate listeners as they ponder the disk’s theme, the exploration of the natural world," writes Wall Street Journal music critic Jim Fusilli. "In concert," he says, "Björk demonstrated how well these instruments can serve her songs ..."
Fusilli, who recently described Björk as "one of the most fascinating musicians of our time," writes in his concert review that "she gave a commanding performance," through to the encore, "a triumphant 'Declare Independence.' As the Tesla coil crackled and discharged overhead, Björk and the choir danced wildly, exhorting the crowd, standing now, chanting along, sharing the joy of a magical evening."

The Onion's A.V. Club says of the live Biophilia shows that "the mix of concert and performance art was easily summarized: stunning." New York magazine recently described it as "pitch-perfect." The Quietus says "that crackling, guttural, elemental voice is still the most remarkable instrument on display."

Earlier this week, the New York Times examined another facet of Björk's multimedia Biophilia project: the App, available in the iTunes Store, which features a different app component for each of the ten tracks on the album. Times video game critic Seth Schiessel calls it "among the most creative, innovative and important new projects in popular culture."
