Carolina Chocolate Drops kick off a summer tour of the United States and Europe at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, tonight, followed by sets at the Chicago Blues Festival and Bonaroo Music and Arts Festival this weekend. The tour includes shows across the US, including the Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, and more, before heading to the UK and Europe in late August. The band hits the road in the US again this fall.

Carolina Chocolate Drops kick off a months-long summer tour of the United States and Europe with a performance at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, tonight, followed by sets at the Chicago Blues Festival and Bonaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee this weekend. The tour includes shows across the US, including the Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, and more, before heading to the UK and Europe for a number of shows in late August. The band closes out summer with a set at the FreshGrass Bluegrass Festival in September and hit the road again in the fall.

Nonesuch Records released its second album from the Carolina Chocolate Drops—the Grammy-nominated Leaving Eden—in 2012, following the 2011 EP with Luminescent Orchestrii and the Chocolate Drops' first Nonesuch release, the critically acclaimed Genuine Negro Jig, which won a Best Traditional Folk Album Grammy.

    American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
