The 7" was cut by Chicago Mastering Service and pressed at Record Industry, the Netherlands.

Conor Oberst's Upside Down Mountain features many of his friends, including producer Jonathan Wilson, engineer Andy LeMaster, bassist Macey Taylor, multi-instrumentalist Blake Mills, and the Swedish folk-rock vocal duo First Aid Kit. "This is a return to an earlier way I wrote," Oberst says of the songs on the album. "It’s more intimate or personal, if you will. For me, language is a huge part of why I make music." Nonesuch Store pre-orders on CD and LP include an exclusive print and an instant download of the tracks "Hundreds of Ways" and "Governor's Ball."

Oberst heads out on tour in support of the new album, with special guest Dawes, in early May; for details and tickets, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

Performed by Longstreth with his band Dirty Projectors—Felicia Douglass, Maia Friedman, Olga Bell—and the Berlin-based chamber orchestra s t a r g a z e, conducted by André de Ridder, the album also features Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie), Steve Lacy, Patrick Shiroishi, Anastasia Coope, Tim Bernardes, Ayoni, Portraits of Tracy, and the author David Wallace-Wells. Longstreth says that while Song of the Earth—his biggest-yet foray into the field of concert music—"is not a ‘climate change opera,’” he wanted to “find something beyond sadness: beauty spiked with damage.
