Emmylou Harris and Ben Folds will be among the performers at the Chicago stop on the Dave Matthew Band Caravan, a series of three-day, multi-artist festivals taking place in four US cities this summer. The event will take place July 8–10 at Lakeside, on Chicago's south shore of Lake Michigan. Today's announcement follows last month's unveiling of the first stop on the Dave Matthews Band Caravan, June 24–26, in Atlantic City, which, will feature performances from the Carolina Chocolate Drops and Punch Brothers.

Emmylou Harris and Ben Folds will be among the performers at the Chicago stop on the Dave Matthew Band Caravan, a series of three-day, multi-artist festivals taking place in four US cities this summer. The event will take place July 8–10 at Lakeside, on Chicago's south shore of Lake Michigan.

In addition to performances from Emmylou Harris and Ben Folds, the three-day festival will include performances from David Gray, Ray LaMontagne, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Daniel Lanois, Vieux Farka Toure, and many others, as well as a performances of Dark Side of the Moon by The Flaming Lips and full sets from the Dave Matthews Band each night.

Dave Matthews Band Caravan will be the first-ever event held at Lakeside, where the panoramic view of downtown Chicago across the water will provide a backdrop for the festival. Attendees can easily access Lakeside by Metra train, CTA Red Line, bus, bicycle and car. There is ample onsite parking and a carpool program will be available to help connect those who would like to share a ride.

Today's announcement follows last month's unveiling of the first stop on the Dave Matthews Band Caravan, June 24–26, in Atlantic City, which, as noted in the Nonesuch Journal, will feature performances from the Carolina Chocolate Drops and Punch Brothers.

Pre-sales for the Chicago shows begin Monday, April 11, and tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 15, at 11 AM ET. Tickets for Atlantic City are on sale now.     American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
