Emmylou Harris's Grammy-winning album Red Dirt Girl is now available on vinyl for the first time, from Nonesuch Records. The vinyl edition features the legendary singer's Nonesuch debut release on two 140-gram LPs and includes a digital download of the complete album. Harris, dubbed "the most captivating female artist ever in country music" by the Los Angeles Times, offers her first set of self-penned material on the album. "In songs about lonely journeys and lost companions," said the New York Times, "Ms. Harris has found herself."

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell were named Duo/Group of the Year at the Americana Honors & Awards ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville earlier this week. The PBS series Austin City Limits will broadcast a special featuring performance highlights from the event on November 19. The two won the award for their second duo album together, The Traveling Kind, after having won that award, as well as Americana Music Association's Album of the Year, for their debut duo album, Old Yellow Moon, in 2013.

Harris will tour North America this fall with special guests Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, and The Milk Carton Kids for Lampedusa: Concerts for Refugees, which will raise awareness for the unprecedented worldwide refugee crisis. For additional details, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

    Donnacha Dennehy’s Land of Winter is out now. The piece, performed by the composer's longtime collaborators Alarm Will Sound and conductor Alan Pierson, explores the subtleties of Ireland’s seasons via twelve connected sections representing the months of the year. "It is the varying quality of light that truly demarcates the seasons," Dennehy says, "from the shorter days of grey or piercing light in the winter to the warmer but mercurial light of summer days that at solstice stretch almost to midnight. I like this play between light and time, and it is the major inspiration behind the piece." You can watch a video for “July" here.
