The paper's Killian Fox writes that, with the new record, its producer, Danger Mouse, is "putting both feet in the rock camp."
The Black Keys' latest Nonesuch release, Attack & Release, doesn't hit stores till April 1, but The Guardian has already named it one of the "ten essential albums for spring." The paper's Killian Fox writes that, with the new record, its producer, Brian Burton, a.k.a. Danger Mouse, is "putting both feet in the rock camp." Says Fox:
You can hear Burton's influence loud and clear throughout—the highly regimented rhythms, the liberal use of Moogs, the inspired little piano tinkle on "Lies"—enriching the Keys' stripped-back sound. Guitar genius Marc Ribot is another welcome contributor to this fine piece of work.
