It is with great regret that Flaco Jiménez has had to pull out of Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe’s forthcoming European tour on doctor's orders. Due to physical limitations and severe pain caused by herniated discs in his lower back, the Grammy-winning accordionist is unable to travel or perform for the foreseeable future. He is currently undergoing treatment in San Antonio, Texas. The 19-date tour begins on June 11 in Dublin.

Due to physical limitations and severe pain caused by herniated discs in his lower back, he is unable to travel or perform for the foreseeable future. He is currently undergoing treatment in San Antonio, Texas.
 
A multi-Grammy Award-winning accordion player, Flaco Jiménez began his celebrated recording career in the 1950s. Since then he has released many acclaimed albums and worked with the likes of Dr. John, Bob Dylan, and David Lindley. Jiménez has also been featured on several Ry Cooder albums, including the most recent, the 2008 Nonesuch release I, Flathead, as well as Chávez Ravine, Get Rhythm, and Chicken Skin Music, among others.

Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe’s 19-date tour of Europe, with Joachim Cooder on drums and vocalist Juliette Commagere, begins on June 11 at Dublin's Olympia Theatre and continues through July 10. For more information, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

    Hurray for the Riff Raff, following the announcement of their headline US tour last week and the start of their tour with Bright Eyes,  has just added a handful of additional performances for 2025. Extending their run of shows from spring and summer into fall, newly added stops include an appearance at Newport Folk Festival, dates with The Head and the Heart, and a special night in their new home city of Chicago, at Old Town School of Folk Music.
