Jessica Lea Mayfield, who is currently touring the United States in support of her Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me, has just added a new set of US tour dates to follow in November. Set to perform two sets at the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion in Bristol, Tennessee, this weekend, Mayfield will return to Tennessee as part of the newly announced November headline dates, which also include stops in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Virginia, Maryland, and New York, where she'll return to the Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn.
Mayfield's current tour includes four additional festivals, the MidPoint Music Festival in Cincinnati, the Pygmalion Music Festival in Champaign-Urbana, Soundland in Nashville, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco. Also ahead is a set at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California, opening for the legendary John Prine. Mayfield will also join the Avett Brothers for three shows in October and the Drive-By Truckers for three shows in November. See below for Mayfield's currently scheduled tour dates. The search for the official animated music video for the Tell Me album track "Blue Skies Again," which began late last month, runs through next Thursday, September 22 at 11:59 PM PST. Entrants should create a five- to fifteen-second animated video clip, upload it to YouTube, and post a link to the video as a comment on the contest page on Mayfield's Facebook page. The winner will get the opportunity to animate the official music video for "Blue Skies Again" and will receive a $500 cash prize, an autographed copy of Tell Me on CD and vinyl, a Galaxy t-shirt, and one pair of concert tickets and backstage passes to see Jessica Lea Mayfield live in 2011/2012 (excluding transportation and tickets for festival dates).
