Jessica Lea Mayfield’s Nonesuch Records debut, Tell Me, will be released February 8. Produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, the album follows Mayfield’s acclaimed 2008 release, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, which debuted in the CMJ Top 200 and in the top 50 on the “Indie Albums” chart. Already receiving critical notice, Mayfield was named one of Spin magazine’s “5 Best New Artists for January,” while Rolling Stone recently featured her in their “Hot List.” Additionally, the Boston Globe selected her as one of their “11 new artists to hear right now” and American Songwriter included the album in their “Ten Albums We’re Excited for in 2011.”
Tell Me is currently available to pre-order here in the Nonesuch Store, where the first 250 CD or vinyl copies include an exclusive signed 7” of the album’s first single, “Our Hearts Are Wrong.” (The B-side is a live version of the With Blasphemy So Heartfelt song “Kiss Me Again.”) To reserve your copy, visit the Nonesuch Store now.
Since the release of With Blasphemy So Heartfelt in 2008, Mayfield has toured alongside numerous renowned artists, including The Avett Brothers, Ray LaMontagne, Band of Horses, and The Black Keys. Mayfield will tour throughout 2011, including shows with The Avett Brothers and Justin Townes Earle as well as headlining dates. You can see all the currently scheduled dates below.
