Jessica Lea Mayfield returns to the road to launch a late-summer tour of the United States that will include headlining dates, summer festivals, a supporting set with John Prine, and a double bill with label mates Punch Brothers.

The tour, which features songs from Mayfield's Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me, kicks off tonight when she headlines a show at Mohawk Place in Buffalo, New York, and continues with additional stops in upstate New York, Vermont, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, and California. As announced yesterday in the Nonesuch Journal, Mayfield is among the artists announced this week for the 2011 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival, the free outdoor music festival held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, along with label mates Emmylou Harris, Punch Brothers, and The Low Anthem. See below for all of the currently scheduled tour dates and visit nonesuch.com/on-tour for further details and ticket links.

Following Mayfield's show at the Bottletree in Birmingham, Alabama, closing out an earlier leg of her tour last month, Consequence of Sound's Matt Wallin says that "seeing Mayfield live makes you understand her songs even better." He describes her cohorts on stage as "a dynamite backing band that rocks the normally soft songs out and adds another layer."

To pick up a copy of Tell Me, head to the Nonesuch Store, where orders include high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the album at checkout.

American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
