There's just one more week to go before the release of Jessica Lea Mayfield's Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me, produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. "Auerbach brings out the best" in Mayfield, says the Cleveland Scene; "this is Mayfield’s strongest record, an alt-country torch storm that rivals Neko Case’s best." There's just one more week to go before the release of Jessica Lea Mayfield's Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me. The new album, produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, follows Mayfield’s acclaimed 2008 release, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, which Pitchfork rated an 8.2, calling it "fascinating and endlessly listenable."
The Cleveland Scene, out of Mayfield and Auerbach's home state of Ohio, has an early review. "Dan Auerbach brings out the best in 21-year-old Kent singer-songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield on her major-label debut," writes reviewer Jeff Niesel, concluding that "this is Mayfield’s strongest record, an alt-country torch storm that rivals Neko Case’s best." Read the complete review at clevescene.com.
Tell Me is available to pre-order here in the Nonesuch Store, along with an exclusive signed 7” of the album’s first single, “Our Hearts Are Wrong.” (The B-side is a live version of the With Blasphemy So Heartfelt song “Kiss Me Again.”) To reserve your copy now, head to the Nonesuch Store.
Mayfield kicks off a two-week tour with Justin Townes Earle this weekend, followed by a several dates with the Avett Brothers. For more information, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.
