Jessica Lea Mayfield's Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me, produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, is due out in just a few weeks, on February 8, with the vinyl set for a February 22 release. Mayfield recently stopped by the offices of Relix magazine to perform the album track "Sometimes at Night," which Relix describes as "haunting." You can watch the performance and hear for yourself at relix.com.

The Boston Globe features Mayfield in its list of recommended new artists for the new year. "At 21, Mayfield writes and sings beyond her years, sounding like she’s lived as hard a life as Lucinda Williams, to whom she’s often compared," says the Globe. On Tell Me, "she sidesteps the sophomore slump with a riveting set of dusky alt-country that goes down well with a six-pack and a pack of Camels." Read more at boston.com.

Both the vinyl and CD formats of the album are available for pre-order now in the Nonesuch Store. Last week, Mayfield was busy autographing copies of the 7” vinyl of the album’s first single, “Our Hearts Are Wrong,” which will be included with the first 250 Nonesuch Store pre-orders. (You can see a photo of her signing the sleeves on her Facebook page at facebook.com/jessicaleamayfield.) All orders include high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the complete album starting release day. To reserve your copy, head to the Nonesuch Store now.

Mayfield will be on tour with Justin Townes Earle the week of the album's release and with the Avett Brothers later that month. For more information, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The Way Out of Easy, the first album from guitarist Jeff Parker and his long-running ETA IVtet—saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, drummer Jay Bellerose—since their 2022 debut Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, which Pitchfork named one of the Best Albums of the 2020s So Far, is out now on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records. Like that album, The Way Out of Easy comprises recordings from LA venue ETA, where Parker and the ensemble held a weekly residency for seven years. During that time, the ETA IVtet evolved from a band that played mostly standards into a group known for its transcendent, long-form journeys into innovative, groove-oriented improvised music. All four tracks on The Way Out of Easy come from a single night in 2023, providing an unfiltered view of the ensemble, fully in their element.

The Staves' new EP Happy New Year, out today, includes three acoustic versions of tracks from their new album, All Now—"I Don't Say It, But I Feel It," "After School," and "All Now"—and a cover of The Beatles' "She's Leaving Home." Also out now: an acoustic performance video for "After School," which the duo calls "a love song to our sister Emily inspired by the bands we were listening to in the '90s. Putting on the rose-tinted glasses and embracing nostalgia."
