Still fresh off of Wednesday's show at London's Hammersmith Apollo, k.d. lang appeared on the long-running UK show ITV's This Morning. Included in the segment was a discussion of Watershed, the new album; her career; and an impromptu solo performance, from the show's couch, of the album's opening track, "I Dream of Spring," with k.d. picking up guitar as well.

Meanwhile, the Guardian has published its own four-star review of the Apollo concert, following a number of rave reviews that came in yesterday. The Guardian's Betty Clarke writes that, on the new album, k.d. "moves from country and jazz to reflective pop with a subtlety born of contentment and rediscovered confidence." And on stage, while moments between songs bring a good bit of suggestive cat calls from the energetic audience, "when she sings, there is awed silence."

One highlight came from k.d.'s "mesmerising" performance of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," which she recorded on Hymns of the 49th Parallel. "She reaches into the air," reports Clarke, "plucking the tiniest note from within her huge range, bends double, before throwing her head back and unleashing her pitch-perfect roar."
