"From the first long, soaring notes of the night she was in spectacular, pitch-perfect voice and seemed re-energised by being out-front of a hot, stripped-down band," writes West Australian critic Ray Purvis in his review of Saturday's tour-opening show at the Sandalford Winery. "When in full-flight she displayed a voice that can devour the planet. Although recently turned 50, the singer exuded a new confidence, dancing and strutting around the stage like Mick Jagger, as well as selflessly sharing herself with the audience while crooning her torchy love songs." Following last night's performance at the AIS Arena, the Canberra Times reviewer Stuart Walmsley says: "The lower register of that unmistakable voice almost makes you melt into your seat, but lang also displayed incredible range in delivering tracks from her considerable back catalogue, backed by the Siss Boom Bang."
