Kronos Quartet has announced its 2014–15 concert season, including a month-long tour of European summer festivals that culminates in a residency at Kraków's Sacrum Profanum. Kronos returns to the US in late September for the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM)'s celebration of Nonesuch Records' 50th anniversary, Nonesuch Records at BAM, featuring a concert of folk music with Natalie Merchant, Rhiannon Giddens, Sam Amidon, and Olivia Chaney, and five nights with Laurie Anderson performing her Landfall. Another season highlight is the multimedia program Beyond Zero: 1914–1918, which Kronos will perform throughout the US.

Kronos Quartet has announced its 2014–15 concert season. This, the group's 41st season, begins with a return visit to Rancho Nicasio, about an hour north of its home base in San Francisco, on August 10. Kronos then heads to Europe for a month-long tour of summer festivals, including two nights each at the Edinburgh International Festival (August 18 and 19) and Helsinki Festival (August 25 and 26), as well as a three-concert residency at Kraków's Sacrum Profanum (September 16–18), including Helsinki and Kraków debuts with Laurie Anderson of her new piece Landfall.

Kronos Quartet returns to the United States in late September to join in on the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM)'s multi-event celebration of Nonesuch Records' 50th anniversary, Nonesuch Records at BAM, including a new take on the folk songbook with fellow Nonesuch artists Natalie Merchant, Rhiannon Giddens, Sam Amidon, and Olivia Chaney, at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House (September 20), and five nights with Laurie Anderson performing Landfall at the BAM Harvey Theater (September 23–27). Kronos and Anderson go on to perform the piece at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio (October 11); Bass Concert Hall in Austin, Texas (October 14); and the Harris Theater in Chicago (March 17, 2015).

Another season highlight is the evening-length, multimedia program Beyond Zero: 1914–1918, with music by Aleksandra Vrebalov and film by Bill Morrison, which premiered at Cal Performances in Berkeley this past spring. Upcoming performances include Edinburgh International Festival (August 18); Rotterdam Philharmonic Gergiev Festival (September 14); CU Presents in Boulder, Colorado (October 7); Harriman-Jewell Series at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri (October 18); Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City, Iowa (February 7, 2015); Hopkins Center for the Arts in Hanover, NH (February 10); Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall in New York (March 7); and more.

    The Way Out of Easy, the first album from guitarist Jeff Parker and his long-running ETA IVtet—saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, drummer Jay Bellerose—since their 2022 debut Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, which Pitchfork named one of the Best Albums of the 2020s So Far, is out now on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records. Like that album, The Way Out of Easy comprises recordings from LA venue ETA, where Parker and the ensemble held a weekly residency for seven years. During that time, the ETA IVtet evolved from a band that played mostly standards into a group known for its transcendent, long-form journeys into innovative, groove-oriented improvised music. All four tracks on The Way Out of Easy come from a single night in 2023, providing an unfiltered view of the ensemble, fully in their element.
