As blizzards blow back on its home turf, Lake Street Dive joins the Avett Brothers for a five-day, sold-out festival at the Hard Rock Hotel on the sunny and warm Riviera Maya in Mexico starting today. The band returns to the United States next week to launch a two-month tour, with music from its 2016 Nonesuch debut album, Side Pony, beginning at the group members' alma mater, the New England Conservatory in Boston, for the esteemed institution's sold-out 150th anniversary celebration on February 16. The tour continues with more sold-out shows throughout the Northeast, in Portland, New Haven, Woodstock, Brooklyn, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore, where the band will join the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. It then heads south to North Carolina and Atlanta; to the Midwest in Ann Arbor, Minneapolis, and Des Moines; and west for shows in Omaha, Denver, Boulder, Laramie, Boise, Portland, and Seattle, culminating with three in California: at the Fox Theater in Oakland, Belly Up in Solana Beach, and, on the first day of spring, The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.

There are already several spring and summer festival dates confirmed, including Jazz Fest in New Orleans, Clearwater in upstate New York; Levitate and Green River in Massachusetts, and JAS Aspen Snowmass in Colorado. Lake Street Dive will also be special guests of Jack Johnson at three shows in the Northeast in June. See below for all of the currently announced dates; for all the latest, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

The Way Out of Easy, the first album from guitarist Jeff Parker and his long-running ETA IVtet—saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, drummer Jay Bellerose—since their 2022 debut Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, which Pitchfork named one of the Best Albums of the 2020s So Far, is out now on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records. Like that album, The Way Out of Easy comprises recordings from LA venue ETA, where Parker and the ensemble held a weekly residency for seven years. During that time, the ETA IVtet evolved from a band that played mostly standards into a group known for its transcendent, long-form journeys into innovative, groove-oriented improvised music. All four tracks on The Way Out of Easy come from a single night in 2023, providing an unfiltered view of the ensemble, fully in their element.

The Staves' new EP Happy New Year, out today, includes three acoustic versions of tracks from their new album, All Now—"I Don't Say It, But I Feel It," "After School," and "All Now"—and a cover of The Beatles' "She's Leaving Home." Also out now: an acoustic performance video for "After School," which the duo calls "a love song to our sister Emily inspired by the bands we were listening to in the '90s. Putting on the rose-tinted glasses and embracing nostalgia."
