Lake Street Dive begins an extensive US summer tour at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville tonight, followed by stops across the South and up to Brooklyn's Prospect Park to open the Celebrate Brooklyn! season. The cross-country tour continues with headline and festival sets in the Northeast, back down South, and across the Midwest—including three nights in Chicago—as well as three shows supporting Jack Johnson and four with Amos Lee. In August, the bands heads West for concerts in the Rockies, Pacific Northwest, and California, including a special performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles for the Jazz at the Bowl series. The tour concludes (for now) in Florida after Labor Day.

Lake Street Dive made its Nonesuch debut last year, with the critically acclaimed Side Pony. The Boston Globe calls the album an "exuberant, harmony-rich blend of pop, soul, and jazz," and Paste writes that the band's "experimentation reaps triumphant results." Rolling Stone calls the album "irresistible."

The quartet's live shows have long been widely praised. Billboard says that Lake Street Dive successfully combines "Amy Winehouse, Rita Hayworth and R&B charisma." Mountain Xpress says, "They perform with absolute joy, their passion contagious," and the Charleston City Paper calls their show "serious fun."
