Mountain Man embarks on a fourteen-city US tour—its first in six years—this October, following the release of the acclaimed band's first album in eight years, Magic Ship, on September 21, 2018. The tour starts in Washington, DC, on October 22 and runs through November 17, making stops in Brooklyn, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, and more. Magic Ship, Mountain Man's first record on Nonesuch (out on Bella Union in Europe), includes eleven original songs written by the trio—Amelia Meath, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, and Molly Sarlé—as well as interpretations of Ted Lucas' "Baby Where You Are," Michael Hurley's "Blue Mountain," and the traditional hymn, "Bright Morning Stars." Three album tracks—"Window," "Rang Tang Ring Toon," and "Stella"—were released last week. A new visual for "Window" can now be seen here:

Magic Ship is available to pre-order now at iTunes, the Mountain Man Store, and the Nonesuch Store, where "Window," "Rang Tang Ring Toon," and "Stella" may be downloaded instantly. Additionally, all Nonesuch Store pre-orders include a limited-edition print signed by the band; bundle options include an exclusive tote bag. Magic Ship will also be available at Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon.

    Congratulations to Cécile McLorin Salvant, who has been nominated for the Deutscher Jazzpreis in Germany for Live Act of the Year International. She was nominated in the same category last year and won the prize for International Vocal Album for her 2022 Nonesuch debut album, Ghost Song. The awards ceremony will take place in Cologne on June 13. Salvant is currently on tour in Italy and France, then returns to the US to perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC and tour New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Maryland, California, Nevada, South Carolina, Michigan, and more.
