A New York City tradition since 1981, the Tribute joyously celebrates John Lennon’s life, music and timeless message of peace and love. Proceeds will benefit Theatre Within's ongoing free workshops—in songwriting, art, meditation and more—at Gilda's Club NYC for children and adults impacted by cancer.
"With her beautiful songs, social activism, and support of charitable causes," says Yoko Ono, "Natalie Merchant has truly brightened our world and our hearts. Natalie's outspokenness on the environment, domestic violence, and special-needs children shines light on these vitally important issues. I am so happy that Theatre Within is honoring her with this year's John Lennon Real Love Award."
