California-based singer/songwriter Nataly Dawn, who has been touring the United States in support of her critically acclaimed new album, How I Knew Her, will tour Europe for the first time this spring, including two UK headline shows in London (Slaughtered Lamb, May 15) and Nottingham (Rescue Rooms, May 16), and seven shows in the UK supporting Lord Huron. The European tour, which follows additional tour dates on the US West Coast later this month, also includes dates in France, Netherlands, and Germany. Tickets are on sale now. Nataly Dawn, singer-songwriter with the duo Pomplamoose, released her Nonesuch debut How I Knew Her in February. The album—comprising 12 autobiographical, introspective songs by Dawn—was produced by her longtime partner Jack Conte and recorded with a group of accomplished musicians at Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati, CA, where many of her favorite Tom Waits albums had been made. Describing it as "delicate and playful," the Daily Telegraph wrote, "Dawn balances childlike wonder with sly wit and subtle emotion, switching from deadpan folky narratives to archaic country rocking with an ease reminiscent of such Americana greats as Natalie Merchant and Kate McGarrigle."
The daughter of missionaries, Dawn spent much of her childhood in Europe where she attended Lycées Français in France and Belgium before returning to the US to study art and French literature at Stanford University, where she met Conte and formed Pomplamoose.
To pick up a copy of How I Knew Her, head to iTunes or the Nonesuch Store, where CD and vinyl orders include a download of the album at checkout.
