Makaya McCraven is out West this weekend, performing at The Outpost in Albuquerque tonight, and the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix on Saturday. McCraven then brings his North American fall tour, featuring songs from his acclaimed new album, In These Times, to a close with a final show at The Lodge Room in Los Angeles on Sunday, joined by Theon Cross for a Jazz Is Dead show celebrating The Lodge Room’s fifth anniversary.

---

Richard Goode performs an all-Beethoven program at Wigmore Hall in London on Saturday. Goode’s famed recordings of the complete Beethoven sonatas, released on Nonesuch in 1993, "are performances to which one can return without fear of finding them stale,” said the Guardian. “Superb.” Gramophone calls it "one of the finest interpretations ever put on record."

---

Kronos Quartet helps celebrate Philip Glass’s 85th birthday concert season with a program called Glass: Reimagined in the Rainbow Room in New York City tonight. The event explores Glass's influence through a shared concert from Kronos and electronic composer Jlin. Featuring re-imaginings of Philip Glass compositions, and music Jlin has written for Kronos, the concert highlights how Glass’s compositions can be played, reimagined, extrapolated, and interpreted.

---

Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride, and Brian Blade continue their tour performing pieces from their three albums—their 1994 debut, MoodSwing, and its acclaimed recent follow-ups, 2020’s RoundAgain and LongGone, which was released this past July—at Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on Saturday. The tour continues with shows in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, Belgium, Monaco, and Switzerland, culminating at the Barbican Centre on November 14 for the London Jazz Festival.

---

Chris Thile continues his European tour, featuring songs from his 2021 solo album, Laysongs, and more at the Chapelle de la Trinité in Lyon, France, tonight, and at Philharmonie de Luxembourg on Sunday. The shows continue with stops in Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, and Norway before heading to the UK and Ireland in November for six shows with special guest Sam Amidon.

---

Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway celebrate Halloween weekend performing songs from their new album, Crooked Tree, in a set at Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, Florida, on Saturday.

American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
