Pat Metheny, whose latest album, What's It All About, was released this summer on Nonesuch Records, launches a month-long, 20-city tour of the United States this weekend. Metheny will be joined on the tour by bassist (and Brad Mehldau Trio member) Larry Grenadier. Taking its lead from the album, which features Metheny's solo acoustic take on classic tunes from songwriters like Paul Simon, Lennon & McCartney, Burt Bacharach, and Henry Mancini, the concerts will take place in very special intimate settings throughout the US. The sets will include songs from What's It All About along with new material and favorites from throughout Metheny's rich catalog.
The tour begins with two sets at The Seasons Performance Hall in Yakima, Washington, Saturday and closes with a special week-long engagement at the Blue Note in New York City. This will be the first time Metheny has played the legendary club as a leader. There are a limited amount of tickets still available. See below for all the scheduled US dates.
Following the US performances, Metheny and Grenadier head to Europe on tour, where they will be joined by Bill Stewart on drums. For more information on both tours and ticket links, go to nonesuch.com/on-tour.
To pick up a copy of What's It All About, head to the Nonesuch Store, where CD and LP orders include high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the album at checkout, and MP3s and FLAC lossless files are also available for purchase.
