The tour continues at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville, North Carolina, tonight, followed by stops in Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, and Minneapolis in the days ahead. The Chicago Reader, previewing the Saturday night show at the Riviera with Michael Daves, calls the new album "stunning." For tour details and tickets, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.
That follows similar praise that met the album's original release in January. "Punch Brothers are astoundingly skilled, non-show-offy, and pretty much pushing at the vanguard of really great music you need to listen to right now," said Rolling Stone. "This record would be a great place to start." The Minneapolis Star-Tribune said the album features "some choral harmonies that are somewhere between the Beach Boys and heaven." The CBC called it "triumphant."
