Punch Brothers will perform on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno next Thursday, June 17, just two days after the release of their new album, Antifogmatic. Two songs from the album are now on Nonesuch Radio, and a new video about it is now on nonesuch.com/media. USA Today includes "Rye Whiskey" among "ten intriguing tracks from 2010's Bonnaroo artists." Punch Brothers' Bonnaroo set will stream on NPR.org and be webcast on YouTube.
With just days to go before the June 15 release of the new Punch Brothers' album, Antifogmatic, comes word that the band will perform on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno two days later, on Thursday, June 17. Tune in then to see the band play "Rye Whiskey" off the new album; the show airs on NBC starting at 11:35 PM ET.
Antifogmatic is still available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store, with pre-orders of the deluxe CD/DVD edition including a limited-edition Punch Brothers cocktail recipe guide, signed by the band. For an early listen, two songs from the album, "Rye Whiskey" and "This Is the Song (Good Luck)," are now playing on Nonesuch Radio here at nonesuch.com and on the band's MySpace page at myspace.com/punchbrothers.
You can also hear from and about the new album in a new eight-minute video, Punch Brothers: A Conversation About "Antifogmatic," now up on nonesuch.com/media. All five band members talk about the wholly collaborative process that went into the writing and recording of the album, what it was like to work with producer Jon Brion, and the origin of the title Antifogmatic.
For this week's USA Today Playlist, the paper includes "Rye Whiskey" on its choice of "ten intriguing tracks from 2010's Bonnaroo artists." Punch Brothers will be performing two sets at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, tomorrow afternoon. The band's set in the That Tent will stream on NPR.org Saturday at 2 PM ET; Bonnaroo's YouTube page will also have a webcast of the set that day starting at 1:30 PM ET, at youtube.com/bonnaroo.
On release day itself, June 15, Punch Brothers will give a free, live in-store performance and sign copies of the album at Twist & Shout in Denver, before opening for Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers in a sold-out show at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The band will celebrate the release of Antifogmatic on its home turf in New York City with a concert at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on Wednesday, June 23.
