Robert Plant kicks off a North American fall tour at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, Thursday night and will perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night. He was in the city earlier this week to talk with CBS This Morning about his new album, lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar, released earlier this month on Nonesuch / Warner Bros. Records, his Led Zeppelin days, and much more.

"He is known as the 'Golden God,'" says CBS This Morning. "And he's not showing signs of stopping ... Now, on his tenth solo album, lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar, Plant weaves world music with blues, bluegrass, and a lifetime of adventure."

Robert Plant also spoke with Soundcheck from New York public radio station WNYC yesterday.

"Robert Plant has lived a few lives in his five decades of music-making," says the show."And, at least occasionally on his latest record, lullaby and... the Ceaseless Roar, his voice conveys the sound of a voyager meditating on his many travels."

Plant has previously said that the songs on the album "are an ode to life and love, and the fragile adventure you set out upon unknowingly and unwittingly." He discussed that adventure with Soundcheck host John Schaefer and that journey that brought him from the Welsh borders, through the American South, and back home to the UK.

You can hear the interview here:

Plant and his band The Sensational Space Shifters perform two concerts at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) this weekend for the Nonesuch Records at BAM celebration of the label's 50th anniversary, then take the tour to Toronto, Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles. For details, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

To pick up a copy of lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar, which Q calls “best solo album yet … a beautifully moving, soul-stirring, bravely genre-blurring album" and American Songwriter calls a “stunning entry into his already impressive catalog,” head to iTunes, Amazon, or the Nonesuch Store, where CD and vinyl orders include a free MP3 download of the complete album at checkout.

David Longstreth’s Song of the Earth, a song cycle for orchestra and voices, is due April 4. Performed by Longstreth with his band Dirty Projectors—Felicia Douglass, Maia Friedman, Olga Bell—and the Berlin-based chamber orchestra s t a r g a z e, conducted by André de Ridder, the album also features Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie), Steve Lacy, Patrick Shiroishi, Anastasia Coope, Tim Bernardes, Ayoni, Portraits of Tracy, and the author David Wallace-Wells. Longstreth says that while Song of the Earth—his biggest-yet foray into the field of concert music—"is not a ‘climate change opera,’” he wanted to “find something beyond sadness: beauty spiked with damage. Acknowledgement flecked with hope, irony, humor, rage.”
