Rostam has announced his first North American tour, beginning at the Earl in Atlanta on January 29, 2018. The tour, featuring music from Rostam's recently released debut album, Half-Light, continues through February, with stops in Nashville, DC, Chicago, Seattle, and more, culminating at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on February 24. A ticket pre-sale for Rostam's Spotify followers begins Wednesday, October 18; general on-sale begins Friday, October 20. See below for all of the US dates; for additional details, including his 2017 European tour dates, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour. Also below is Rostam's performance of the album's title track from a recent visit to KEXP in Seattle.
"If you've never seen me perform, it's always with strings—usually a string quartet—live percussion, and video projections," Rostam says. "I'm so psyched to see you out there on the road in January, February, and throughout 2018."
Half-Light, which features fifteen songs that were written, produced, and performed by Rostam in his Los Angeles home studio, was released on Nonesuch in September to rave reviews. "The album glows with romantic turmoil and raw nostalgia," says New York magazine's Vulture. "There is certainly a bit of pain in [Rostam's] remarkably compelling voice. But it's also so airy and whispery in tone, so sincere ... that it sounds like he's feeling the entire spectrum of emotions, and feeling them hard."
Rostam Batmanglij is known for his work in Vampire Weekend (producing each of their three albums); Discovery, his album with Hamilton Leithauser; and recently, his production work with Haim, Charli XCX, Frank Ocean, and more.
To pick up a copy of Half-Light, head to your local music shop, iTunes, Amazon, or the Nonesuch Store, where CD and vinyl orders include a download of the complete album at checkout, and listen to the album on Apple Music and Spotify. There's also a limited-edition yellow vinyl version of the album available exclusively at Vinyl Me Please.

The Way Out of Easy, the first album from guitarist Jeff Parker and his long-running ETA IVtet—saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, drummer Jay Bellerose—since their 2022 debut Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, which Pitchfork named one of the Best Albums of the 2020s So Far, is out now on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records. Like that album, The Way Out of Easy comprises recordings from LA venue ETA, where Parker and the ensemble held a weekly residency for seven years. During that time, the ETA IVtet evolved from a band that played mostly standards into a group known for its transcendent, long-form journeys into innovative, groove-oriented improvised music. All four tracks on The Way Out of Easy come from a single night in 2023, providing an unfiltered view of the ensemble, fully in their element.
The Staves' new EP Happy New Year, out today, includes three acoustic versions of tracks from their new album, All Now—"I Don't Say It, But I Feel It," "After School," and "All Now"—and a cover of The Beatles' "She's Leaving Home." Also out now: an acoustic performance video for "After School," which the duo calls "a love song to our sister Emily inspired by the bands we were listening to in the '90s. Putting on the rose-tinted glasses and embracing nostalgia."
