Shawn Colvin joins BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris in session, recorded during her recent UK tour with Mary Chapin Carpenter, for the latest episode of his program, airing this evening at 7 PM GMT. Colvin performs songs from her latest album, All Fall Down, released earlier this year on Nonesuch Records. She also talks with Harris about recording the new album in producer Buddy Miller's home studio; writing her memoir, Diamond in the Rough, published earlier this year; and Colvin's pop success of the late '90s, including her hit single "Sunny Came Home." Tune in this evening on BBC Radio 2 or listen online at bbc.co.uk.
Shawn Colvin concludes her tour as special guest of the band Heart this weekend with two performances in Mississippi: at the Harrah's Casino in Robinsonville and Hard Rock Live in Biloxi. After Thanksgiving and into the new year, Colvin has a number of solo shows across the United States, as well as a spot on the sold-out Cayamo music-filled cruise along with a host of fellow singer-songwriters including Lyle Lovett, Richard Thompson, Rodney Crowell, and Nonesuch label mate Sara Watkins. On December 5, she joins Lucinda Williams, Shelby Lynne, and Steve Earle for the Holiday Cheer for WFUV benefit show at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
