The Black Keys' new album, Brothers, is due out May 18 from Nonesuch Records. That's just eight days from now, but we know how long eight days can feel when you're waiting for something like this. The good folks at NPR have made the wait a whole lot easier: they're streaming the complete record, all 15 tracks, from now to release day for an Exclusive First Listen.

"There's no shortage of bluesy rock records," says NPR's Bob Boilen, "and I sure didn't think I needed to rush out and hear another one—that is, until I heard The Black Keys' new album, Brothers. Packed with great songs and devoid of throwaways, Brothers is the sixth album by the duo of singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney."

Read more of what Boilen has to say about the new record and decide for yourself when you give it a First Listen at npr.org.

In conjunction with the album’s release, the band will launch an exclusive pop-up store at New York City’s Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, one of downtown New York’s most vital community institutions. The pop-up store will be open from May 18 through May 20 only, highlighted by an intimate performance by The Black Keys on May 19 from which 100% of ticket proceeds will go directly to Housing Works, Inc., which provides housing, health care, job training, and advocacy for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. The Housing Works pop-up store will offer The Black Keys’ merchandise, including the limited-edition collectible hardbound book/deluxe edition of Brothers, otherwise available only on the band’s website, theblackkeys.com. A portion of the proceeds from all merchandise sold will go directly to the Housing Works charity. For more information, visit housingworks.org.

For fans unable to stop by the pop-up store, you can also pre-order the album on CD or vinyl in the Nonesuch Store and receive the complete album as high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s starting release day.

As reported earlier in the Nonesuch Journal, The Black Keys will tour extensively this summer and fall to support Brothers, including an opening slot for Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden on May 20, as well as performances on the Late Show with David Letterman on May 25 and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on May 26. The tour also includes two sold-out shows at Central Park’s SummerStage on July 27 and 28; headlining shows with The Morning Benders, The Whigs, and Nicole Atkins; dates with Kings of Leon; and a performance with The Flaming Lips in Canandaigua, NY. American Railroad, the new album from the Silkroad Ensemble with Rhiannon Giddens, is out now. It is the culmination of four years of research, collaboration, and music-making, having brought Silkroad artists all across the US to uncover and uplift stories of those who built the transcontinental railroad and connecting railways across North America. "The result is a tapestry of stories, traditions, and music that have shaped our multifaceted cultural identity, and that must be heard and recognized," Giddens says. Also out now are a performance video of the track "Mahk Jchi" and the first episode of the American Railroad podcast series. The US fall tour continues to November 23.
