The Black Keys continue to play for sold-out crowds across North America. USA Today includes the band's Lollapalooza set of songs "from their terrific new Brothers album" among the festival's highlights. Time Out says, "The Black Keys sound like contenders these days, even champions." The Toronto Sun says the band delivered "some seriously solid vibes" in that city; Brothers "is practically guaranteed to end up in every critic's Top 10 year end poll."
The Black Keys continue to play for sold-out crowds on their tour of North America featuring music from their recent Nonesuch release, Brothers. One such crowd was some 50,000 strong at last weekend's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago's Grant Park. USA Today included the band's Friday set among the highlights of the multi-day event and a highlight of that the performance of songs "from their terrific new Brothers album." Following their Lollapalooza set, the band stayed on in Chicago to play a sold-out set at the Metro. Time Out reviewer John Dugan says, "The band created gargantuan sound" in the club show. "'Strange Times,' 'Everlasting Light' and other singles came off superbly epic. The crowd, perhaps on its feet for twelve hours or more was locked on to every move, as it should have been," Dugan insists. "'Tighten Up' and its more fleshed-out tunes were knockouts. The Black Keys sound like contenders these days, even champions." Read the full concert review at timeout.com.

The Lollapalooza set followed the tour's move north to Canada. At last week's show at Kool Haus in Toronto, the band delivered "some seriously solid vibes," raved the Toronto Sun. Bandmates Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach "delivered a loud, raw and VERY heavy soul-blues-and-psychedelic-rock experience for 90 non-stop minutes," says reviewer Jane Stevenson.
"Riding high on the glowing reviews of their sixth album, Brothers, which is practically guaranteed to end up in every critic's Top 10 year end poll," Stevenson continues, "Carney and Auerbach were no-nonsense in their approach with very little in the way of stage banter but a lot in the way of expended energy."

Next up on tour, The Black Keys head to Louisville then Nashville, where they play the historic Ryman Auditorium. The Tennessean says fans can "look forward to enjoying a live representation of the bumpin’, funky-as-all-heck retro soul/rock the Keys churned out on this year’s Brothers."
