The Black Keys, due to release their sixth full-length album, Brothers, May 18 on Nonesuch, have added the album track "Tighten Up" to their MySpace page. The band reunited with producer Danger Mouse for this track and wrote, performed, and produced the rest of the album. Pitchfork notes "the soulful bounce of organ and guitar interplay" on the new tune. BBC Radio 1 says the song "adds a little sweet soul to their dynamic blues."
As we announced earlier this month in the Nonesuch Journal, The Black Keys are due to release their sixth full-length album, Brothers, May 18 on Nonesuch. The band—Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney—wrote, performed, and produced all but one of the tracks on the new album, with most co-produced by Mark Neill. Auerbach and Carney reunite with Danger Mouse, the producer of their previous album, Attack & Release, for one track on the new record, "Tighten Up."
Pitchfork notes "the soulful bounce of organ and guitar interplay" on the new tune. BBC Radio 1 presenter Zane Lowe, a self-avowed "big fan of Black Keys," says the song "adds a little sweet soul to their dynamic blues."
Hear it for yourself on the band's MySpace page at myspace.com/theblackkeys.
