The Low Anthem has won the Boston Music Awards' Album of the Year for its Nonesuch debut, Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. The Low Anthem was among the big winners at the 22nd Boston Music Awards (BMA), earning the award for Album of the Year for its Nonesuch debut album, Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. The awards, which honor the region's finest musicians (The Low Anthem being from nearby Providence, Rhode Island), were presented in a ceremony at the Liberty Hotel in Boston Wednesday night.

The band was not among the night's performers, however, as the trio was on the road for a four-night mini-tour with Josh Ritter. The trip began at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, then headed to the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia the night of the BMA ceremony, up to Western Massachusetts for a set at Northampton's Calvin Theatre last night, and coming to a close tonight at the University of Vermont, Burlington. Up next, the band is up for some Holiday Cheer, a special benefit concert for WFUV, the New York City member-supported radio station, with Rosanne Cash and Mike Doughty, on Tuesday.
