Pat Metheny's Orchestrion continues through Europe, following a performance at the Barbican in London. The one-man band was revealed to "a gasp of wonder" from the crowd, says the Times four-star review, with Metheny giving "a highly original performance, full of delightful invention and an almost childlike imagination." Jazzwise calls it "a great achievement ... You’ll never see anything like it." Pat discussed the project on BBC Radio 3's Jazz on 3.

Pat Metheny's tour with music from Orchestrion, his latest Nonesuch release, continues through Europe this weekend, winding back to France, where it began late last month, for a performance at the Olympia in Paris on Saturday.

Anticipation was high as Metheny unveiled the instruments of his one-man band at the Barbican in London on Wednesday to what Times of London reviewer David Sinclair says was "a gasp of wonder." And, Sinclair concludes in a four-star concert review, it proved to be "a highly original performance, full of delightful invention and an almost childlike imagination." Read the complete review at entertainment.timesonline.co.uk.

Jazzwise magazine calls the project "a great achievement," with reviewer Stephen Graham concluding: "You’ll never see anything like it." He describes "Soul Search" as a standout track from the album, on which "all the material is strong and memorable." The concert review is at jazzwisemagazine.com.

Prior to the London show, Pat was interviewed on BBC Radio 3's Jazz on 3. You can listen in online for the next three days at bbc.co.uk. Pat's segment begins at 27:03.
