True Grit, the new film from Joel and Ethan Coen, has been nominated for 11 Critics' Choice Movie Awards, including Best Score for Carter Burwell, Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director. True Grit is set to open the esteemed Berlin International Film Festival in February and opens in the theaters across North America on December 22. I Am Love, with music by John Adams, was nominated for a Critics' Choice Movie Award and a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.

True Grit, the new film from Joel and Ethan Coen based on the 1968 novel of the same name, has been nominated for 11 Critics' Choice Movie Awards, including Best Score for Carter Burwell. The soundtrack for the film, featuring Burwell's score, is due out on Nonesuch on Tuesday and is available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store, where CD orders include MP3s of the album and the digital bonus track by Iris DeMent, available on release day.

In addition to Burwell's nomination for Best Score, True Grit's Critics' Choice Movie Award nominations include Best Picture, Best Actor for Jeff Bridges, Best Supporting Actress and Best Young Actress for Hailee Steinfeld, Best Director for Joel and Ethan Coen, Best Adapted Screenplay for the Coen brothers, Best Cinematography for Roger Deakins, Best Art Direction for Jess Gonchor & Nancy Haigh, Best Costume Design for Mary Zophres, and Best Makeup.

True Grit is set to open the esteemed Berlin International Film Festival at the Berlinale Palast on February 10. "Joel and Ethan Coen stand for first-rate American independent cinema. With their penchant for irony, and off-the-wall characters and stories they have repeatedly captivated audiences,” said Berlinale Director Dieter Kosslick. “True Grit is a wonderful way to kick off the Berlinale 2011." The film opens in the theaters across North America a week from today.

I Am Love, the Italian film directed by Luca Guadagnino, with a score featuring the music of John Adams, has been nominated for a Critics' Choice Movie Award as well, for Best Foreign Language Film. It was nominated in the same category for the Golden Globe Awards. The soundtrack for that film is also available in the Nonesuch Store.

The 16th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Award winners will be announced in a ceremony broadcast live from Hollywood on VH1 January 14, 2011, at 9 PM ET. For more information, including the complete list of nominees, visit vh1.com.
