Joshua Redman and Tigran Hamasyan perform in the free online edition of the Tokyo Jazz Festival taking place this Saturday and Sunday from 8pm JST (7am EST) both days via the festival's YouTube channel. Redman plays two sets: one with pianist Hiromi Uehara and another in a virtual reunion with his Still Dreaming band mates cornetist Ron Miles, bassist Scott Colley, and drummer Dave King (sitting in for Brian Blade). The group, which the Washington Post called "consistently riveting," performs songs from the 2018 Grammy-nominated album Still Dreaming, inspired by Redman's father Dewey's band Old and New Dreams.

Rhiannon Giddens and Francesco Turrisi lead a live concert from home in Ireland, featuring songs from their album there is no Other and more, to benefit Gather New Haven Friday afternoon at 4pm ET.
