AfroCubism is set for its North American release on Nonesuch this Tuesday, November 2. The band comes to North America for just three nights of live shows the following weekend in Montreal, Boston, and New York City. AfroCubism made its first live appearance at the Mar de Musicas festival in Cartagena, Spain, this past July. AfroCubism—the long-awaited collaboration between Cuban and Malian musicians meant to take place when the Buena Vista Social Club album was born—is set for its North American release on Nonesuch Records this coming Tuesday, November 2. The album is still available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store with the exclusive bonus track "Keme Bourama" and the complete album included as high-quality 320 kbps MP3s starting release day.
Just days after the album's release, the musicians who made it a reality 14 years after its initial conception will come to North America for just three nights of live shows: Friday, November 5, at Metropolis in Montreal; Sunday, November 7, at Boston's Berklee Performance Center; and Tuesady, November 9, at The Town Hall in New York City.
