Pat Metheny's adventurous new "solo” recording, Orchestrion, is set for its Nonesuch release in just over two weeks, due out on CD January 26 and on vinyl March 9. The project pairs the composer-guitarist with a phalanx of remarkable, custom-made instruments played via solenoid switches and pneumatics, resulting in the most original set of his career. But words can only do so much to describe Orchestrion. Now, for the first time, you can catch a glimpse of Pat and his instruments in action, performing an excerpt from the album track "Expansion," in a video at nonesuch.com/media.
