Wanda Jackson, whose new album, The Party Ain't Over, is just days away from its Third Man / Nonesuch Records release this Tuesday, was joined by Jack White, the album's producer, and The Third Man House Band for a rocking-good performance of the album's opening track, "Shakin' All Over," on the Late Show with David Letterman last night.

"Wasn't that tremendous!" Letterman exclaimed when they were through. "That was fantastic." In fact, Letterman enjoyed the performance so much, he asked Jackson and the band to give an encore performance to close the show.

"Jackson's spitfire voice hasn't lost an inch and only gained gravity with age. With White as her sideman, these shows should burn." A separate piece in the Times calls the show "a can't miss scorcher of an evening"

LA Weekly says: "The influence of Jackson on rockabilly (and rock & roll in general) can't really be overstated, especially given the extent to which rock music in the '50s was a boy's club." And with the release of The Party Ain't Over, she "has demonstrated that she's still got it."
