As noted, Thile and pianist Brad Mehldau will release a self-titled duo album on January 27. They played a two-night stand at Bowery Ballroom in New York City at the end of 2015 before going into the studio to record the album, a mix of covers and original songs. You can pre-order Chris Thile & Brad Mehldau now on iTunes and the Nonesuch Store with an instant download of the album track "Scarlet Town," written by David Rawlings and Gillian Welch.
