Mala was released to critical acclaim, with Pitchfork calling it "Banhart's best record in nearly a decade." The album received four-star reviews from, among others, Mojo, Q, the Times of London, and the Guardian, which called it a "triumph." Under the Radar concludes: "He's a singularly idiosyncratic and brilliant songwriter, one hitting an arresting stride on this uniformly superb album."

To pick up a copy of Mala on CD, vinyl, MP3, and FLAC, and Banhart's "in the pocket" t-shirt, head to the Nonesuch Store now.

Devendra Banhart recently concluded a three-week tour of Latin America performing music from the new album. His next scheduled shows are in April 2014, when he performs at the Byron Bay Bluesfest and two sideshows at the Factory Theatre in Sydney and Prince Bandroom in Melbourne. Tickets for the sideshows go on sale this week. For details and tickets, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.
