Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, whose new duets album, Old Yellow Moon, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Country Album chart, perform three songs from and discuss the album on Soundcheck, airing tonight on WNYC. You can also watch the show here. The two host an exclusive one-hour special on SiriusXM's Outlaw Country tonight and join Steve Earle for his "Hardcore Troubadour Radio" show this weekend. Harris and Crowell launch their US tour next week.

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell celebrated the release of their new duets album, Old Yellow Moon, last week with a live-streaming performance and conversation in The Greene Space for New York public radio station WNYC's Soundcheck. The duo performed three album tracks—Crowell's "Here We Are," Allen Reynolds' "Dreaming My Dreams," and Kris Kristofferson's "Chase the Feeling"—and talk with host John Schaefer about this, their first official collaboration together since Crowell joined Harris’ Hot Band in 1975. The show will air on tonight's broadcast of Soundcheck on the radio at WNYC 93.9 FM, starting at 9 PM ET, as well as on WDET 101.9 FM in Detroit, and online at soundcheck.org. Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell host an exclusive one-hour special featuring live in-studio performances of songs from their new album and guest DJ picks on SiriusXM Outlaw Country satellite radio tonight at 11 PM ET. Also on SiriusXM Outlaw Country, they join Steve Earle for a special episode of his weekly "Hardcore Troubadour Radio" show this Saturday, March 9, at 9 PM ET, and Sunday, at 9 AM, with additional rebroadcasts in the days ahead.

Old Yellow Moon, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Country Album chart and has earned accolades on both sides of the Alantic, is a 12-track duets album featuring songs written by Crowell as well as interpretations of songs by Hank DeVito, Roger Miller, and others, in addition to those mentioned above. Among the world-renowned musicians on the album are Stuart Duncan, Vince Gill, Bill Payne, and members of the original Hot Band.     The Way Out of Easy, the first album from guitarist Jeff Parker and his long-running ETA IVtet—saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, drummer Jay Bellerose—since their 2022 debut Mondays at the Enfield Tennis Academy, which Pitchfork named one of the Best Albums of the 2020s So Far, is out now on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records. Like that album, The Way Out of Easy comprises recordings from LA venue ETA, where Parker and the ensemble held a weekly residency for seven years. During that time, the ETA IVtet evolved from a band that played mostly standards into a group known for its transcendent, long-form journeys into innovative, groove-oriented improvised music. All four tracks on The Way Out of Easy come from a single night in 2023, providing an unfiltered view of the ensemble, fully in their element.
